Vienna (Wien) is the main city, the capital of Austria and one of the nine states of Austria. The city is by far the largest one in Austria, as well as its cultural, economic, political centre and 10th-largest city by population in the European Union.

Vienna International Airport is the main and the biggest airport in Austria. It has three terminals and is located in Schwechat, 18 kilometres southeast of central Vienna, on the way to Bratislava.

The airport is capable of handling wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 747 and Airbus A340. It is also the hub of main national flight carrier Austrian Airlines, as well as for Lufthansa, LOT, the low cost companies, like Niki, KLM, Pegasus, Anadolujet.
