Graz (Slovene: Gradec) is the second-largest city in Austria after Vienna and it is the capital of the federal state of Styria.
Graz is a place of culture, of a very interesting architecture and it has a long tradition as a student city due to its six universities with more than 44,000 students. The main touristic attraction is represented by Old Town, one of the best-preserved city centers in Central Europe, a huge cultural inheritance of Austrian Empire. Politically and culturally, Graz was for centuries more important for Slovenes than Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, and still remains very influential.
