KLAGENFURT (CELOVEC) is the capital of Carinthia, the Southern region in Austria. The old town with its squares, restaurants and shop centers attract a lot of tourists due to Austrian architecture, with large squares, beautiful cafes and restaurants.

The city is well known for Slovenes and in the past was a very important cultural link between Austria and Ljubljana.

The place is also known for the open air museum MINIMUNDUS located in the western part of the city. The museum offersover 150 miniature models of famous buildings from around the world.

Klagenfurt Airport is a small international airport, located in Annabichl, north northeast part from the city centre of Klagenfurt.

On this airport operate some big companies like Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, and it is attractive for some low cost carriers such as Condor, Ryanair, Niki, Germanwings.

The journey time from Ljubljana city to Klagenfurt (90-95 km) is around 1.45-2 hours.

To the airport is a little bit longer, around 120 km.

The route passes through the mountains and a tunnel and offer the opportunity to admire the Alps and Slovene and Austrian houses and landscapes.

During the winter, when the tunnel is closed the journey via Villach is longer, around 2.5 hours (170-190km)

The cruise speed 70-130 km .

For Saint Martin, famous celebration in our country, we organized a party with a group of friends in Hrasce, a village near Postojna cave. I recommend Turanus Shuttle without hesitation. The shuttle was clean, the cost was fair, the drivers were friendly, and I got to Ljubljana from Zagreb Airport at warp speed! My flight was an hour late and the driver was still waiting for me in the airport lobby when I finally arrived. Thank you!
